Whoever said Ricky Ponton will be the best back we have had here was dead on accurate. The kid makes plays. The best run I saw all of last year for USF is a run where he fumbled on the same play... his cut back and hurdle of a Pitt Panther is not something you can teach. The kid will be electric...

We are getting close to football! Yipee! First though, we gotta let softball come together an take care of business.

Ponton is a complete back with size and speed. Agree we will be very happy from this position.

I am also a big fan of Amari Jackson as well.  I don't think they throw him the ball enough.  He is a little to thuggy for me, but his size and potential is pure NFL.

Maybe this might change your mind.  My stepson's tae kwon do teacher had a class with Jackson.  He found out that my son was a big USF fan and had one of those USF footballs (we had bought it at the Sun Dome during the ESPN360/Pitt game).  He asked to borrow the football.  When my son got it back, it was covered with signatures from players and coaches.  I regret that my son has not had a chance to thank Amari personally since he returned the ball to my son's teacher.

He did write Amari a note thanking him and wishing him luck for the rest of the season but I hope sometime in the future he can thank him in person.

That was an awesome run especially seeing it in person.  I think Ricky was a heck of a pickup by the staff.  He will continue our streak of 1,000 yard rushers.

That would have been Ari Hinkelberger who mentioned how stout Ricky Ponton is.  My thinking is that he could be the best football player to ever put on the green and gold.  I really do believe that.  My memory tells me he went to Hillsborough High?  Is that correct?

Bulliever might have the answer.  I think he was all-state or something.

The guy is awesome.

That is exactly the kind of positive things that should be talked about and praised for our football team!!!

BTW, in the summer USF has Fan Appreciation Day the weekend before classes start where you can meet the coaches and players.  That would be the perfect opportunity for your son to meet Amari.

Get over yourself.  Talking about yourself in the third person these days?  Or should I say in the one/third person

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
