I'm honestly never ashamed to be an alum for any reason, that's weak.

Amen.

Trip -  Your #3 is a function of #1 & #2. Bring in Huggy; he brings in some McDonald's All-Americans, USF gets a spot on the map, starts winning, packs the Sun Dome; boosters come out of the coma = Long term health.

Rurben,

Just because Huggins comes doesn't mean McDonald's All Americans come. He pulled in some, but a lot of them were degenerative punks who ran amuck (James White, a McD AA transferred out of UF because he was asked to improve his 1.3 GPA over the summer or he wouldn't be eligible)

Mac may not be getting the true Mcdonald All-Americans yet but he's not getting chopped liver either ....

The Summer's All Underrated Team

by Staff on August 16, 2005

Here is a list of players who were successful throughout the summer, but they were often over looked. These guys have big time games and they have the games to make people pay attention.

JEROME RANDLE (5'9 Hales Franciscan HS, IL)

Randle may only be 5'9 with shoes, but size did not stop him from leading his Ferrari team to the 17u AAU championship. He had a summer high scoring 45 points. Tulsa leads for his services at this point.

BRANDIS RALEY (6'2 Gaston Day HS, NC)

He led his Charlotte Royals to the Showtime Championship game after an upset win over Memphis Pump N Run. He committed to South Carolina, but also had offers from Boston College and St. Bonaventure.

PRINCTEON "DANTE" CURRY (6'4 Poinciana HS, FL) Pictured right

Curry was the fourth leading scorer at the Bob Gibbons TOC averaging 26 points before making all tournament team. He went on to average 21 points at the Big Time in Vegas and double digits at the Breakdown Hoops Festival, Hoop or Hype (NC) and Big Bend tournament allowing Team Breakdown to advance to the championship game. Curry is a combo guard with freakish athletic ability and a sweet shooting stroke. He committed to Big East school South Florida in June.

TREVOR BOOKER (6'7 Union HS, SC)

Booker caught everyone's attention in the Spring with excellent showings at the Southern Shootout (GA), Hoop or Hype (NC) and the Kingwood Classic in Texas. At 6'7, he has plenty of athletic ability and he is very strong. He committed to Clemson over South Carolina in May.

MATT HILL (6’11 Lincoln Southeast, NE)

Hill started out July with a bang getting MVP of the Indiana Hoosier Shootout. He was spectacular at the Big Time in Las Vegas and got off to a great start at the Best of the Summer before it was cancelled. There are not too many post players in the nation with his size and skilled. The best thing about him is that he plays within his game. He rebounds, blocks shots, and scores often in the paint. He is also a good free throw shooter. Big 12 schools like Nebraska, Texas, Creighton, along with West Virginia, Purdue, and Gonzaga have offered. We expect his list to get much longer.

But you are in the BIG EAST now.

11 out of the 16 Big East Teams signed Top 150 players...only USF, Cinci, Providence, Rutgers & Seton Hall didn't.

Heck...at least 6 teams from the Big East will finish in the Top 25 in regard to recruiting rankings...plus..several Big East teams have a great shot at the National Title.

Do you really think RM can recruit THAT type of talent to play against that type of competition?

RM has had 5 full recruiting periods since Big East invite was known (fall-spring, fall-spring, and fall) to recruit "Big East Talent".

Do you really think he can get USF to finish just in the Top 10/12 of the Big East...let alone challenge for the top?

If you don't want to try and WIN the conference...why have a program?

Will you please stop trying to comment on major college basketball. You obviously have no clue...... I'm still waiting to hear from you how being the AD of a school in a BCS conference helps you dealing with a major college basketball program.

These posts kill me... it's like the GM of the AA Birmingham Barons trying to tell Theo Epstein what he's doing wrong with the Red Sox...

You two taking a liking to a guy who has won a total of 6 conference games in three years -- of which a total of two have been on the road is what is laughable.
