There's no cap on salaries.  There's a cap on the number of assistants you can keep on staff.  But you can pay them a bajillion dollars if you want.

have to agree with him unfortunately... I know the OC and DC at UT make $300k/yr and I doubt the other assistants are that underpaid to make room for the OC and DC salaries

Its 300,000 for top assistants...the NCAA put the restriction in to stop larger schools from preventing young or hot coaching commodities from leaving the programs by schools paying them a redicules amount.

Okay I'm going to assume you're being ironic.  :  The money can be obscene.  Chizik at Texas makes 700K I believe.  I remember we lost him to Auburn for the tune of 250K.

He makes over 250K base salary and that's the highest assistant pay in the Big 12.  Just FYI.

Yes with bonuses he's capped at 300k, Florida tried to repeal that rule when Stoops got the 750k offer from Oklahoma. Back then assistants were capped at 175k I believe.

i dont think the bonus caps them at 300k, im pretty sure both coordinators make 300k base.
