USF is one of hotest schools in sports ,in a great city,going to a top conference.

i am not surprised at the level of interest

USF Gets More Applicants For Vacant AD Position

TAMPA - USF has four more applicants for its athletic director position - Nebraska assistant AD David Gillespie, Maryland interim associate AD Valerie Sheley, Columbus Wardogs (arenafootball2) director of marketing Keith Lueck and Westampton Delran (N.J.) High coach Paul Gardiner.

Fourteen individuals have officially applied for the job.

Consultant Chuck Neinas will present finalists to USF's search committee by mid- May.

Ex-Kansas Official Konzem Among USF AD Candidates

TAMPA - Former Kansas senior associate athletic director Richard Konzem is among the latest applicants for South Florida's athletic director position.

Konzem, who worked in KU's athletic department from 1981-2003, has been interim director at the Dole Institute of Politics on the KU campus since August. Besides Konzem, the latest applicants are: Joseph Bierdon, AD at El Paso Community College in Las Cruces, N.M.; James Tyson II, CEO of Sideline Signatures; Juan Perez, VP of Operations at Vici Marketing; and Clarence Williams III, customer service representative at Qwest Diagnostics.

South Florida Gets More Applicants For AD Job

TAMPA - W. Curtis Williams of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff's athletic department has applied for the University of South Florida's athletic director position. Williams is the chairman of UAPB's Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation.

Raymond Bellamy, the director of football operations for Fort Valley State University, also applied, along with two executives from the private sector. Through Thursday, USF has received 25 applications for the position that was vacated by Lee Roy Selmon in February. A consulting firm was given until mid-May to produce a list of finalists to interview before USF's search committee.
