It’s so sad, I followed the basketball team very close and watched every game last years. He was not only a great coach but a great man.I think they have to name something after him, he accomplished so much in one year. Seems like he tried taking care of himself going for walks daily. Some of the things his players said about him on instagram made me cry a little.

Terribly sad and much too young. Such a positive person who touched many hearts.  Rest in peace Coach.  Prayers to his family, friends and community.

This still doesn't feel real. Caar took usf from last place to first place in conference in one season. I dislike basketball and his coaching and progress got me to tune in. Caar was a great coach and a great man. My prayers go out to his family, his friends, the players he coached over the years,  the current players, and USF basketball.  He came in and changed the culture from losing to winning. May he rest in peace and set the tone for all athletic programs to become champions at USF. We need some GRIT across campus and I hope the teams rally around this great coach who punched up at every stop.

Whether we were getting our butts kicked or winning our first conference championship the dude always ALWAYS started his interviews with "To God Be The Glory". Selfless dude who embraced the community and completely changed USF men's basketball. This is a tough one to process. Thank you Amir!

Still reeling this morning.  Thinking about his wife and kids.  All his players and staff.. Praying for their comfort this morning.

ET, nobody knew he was ill.  At least nobody in public knew.  I'm sure MK knew and kept it under his hat.  Devastating loss for our community.  Great family man too.  Feel really bad for his wife and 3 young kids

It shows thaT HE HAS GREAT FRIENDS that nothing leaked out.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
