shedding tears for this man, his family & the young men he’s impacted thru coaching & mentoring.

far too young, far too talented, had only just begun showing the world what he could do on the sidelines with a dry erase board & the mind of a brilliant leader of men.

i’m at a loss right now.

the 2023-24 USF Men’s Basketball season will always be immortalized as the year USF was blessed with a special soul who led this program to heights never before achieved on the court.

ET, nobody knew he was ill.  At least nobody in public knew.  I'm sure MK knew and kept it under his hat.  Devastating loss for our community.  Great family man too.  Feel really bad for his wife and 3 young kids

Sad…very sad. I’ve read a couple of posts about naming the court after him. I think that a fitting tribute would be to put his name and his best quote on the court:

”This ain’t the same old South Florida, my brother”

I’m past the shocked stage & into the sadness stage. Just feeling terrible for his family, players, colleagues, & friends. He was so much more than a basketball coach. He was inspirational for just about everyone. One of a kind. Now a legend that I will never forget. Heading to sleep but will definitely try to be nicer to all as life is too short.

Really tragic. Hits me harder than expected for someone I don’t know just thinking about the other people impacted by his loss. 

Prayers for his family.
