He did have a great energy and I will share my brief interaction with him like many of us have.  After the UNT win he was on the court waiting to get interviewed, I was pumped and full of many beers. .  I screamed out coach Amir and gave him the horns, he looked over with a big smile and gave them back to me.  A small gesture but it was so genuine and gave me the fuzzies, I really liked that dude, he had such a good vibe.

My quick story....I went to the open practice session last year and midway through he sends all the players into the locker room.  He comes over to everyone that was in attendence and shakes their hands and thanks them for coming out to support the team (EVERY SINGLE ONE).  My wife says to me at the time that is an amazing man.  He won me over in that moment and it was just the begining of the great season we had last year.  I feel so lucky to have had that brief moment with him.

Good to be back Frisco!  All these stories that yall are sharing are very inspirational.  Some people are just special people with healthy vibes that take the time to interact in a positive way.  He was one of those dudes.  We were lucky to have him while we did.

One year ago today, I met Coach Amir at the preseason event. It was such a privilege to know him.

He was a rare guy who did everything to engage the community, hype up the staff, win a championship, all requiring the right temperament.  He had the on the court and off the court 100%.  It manifested in the community responding by buying out the dome.

He definitely made a major impact on everyone's lives.  

I guess speaking from experience, at some point or age bracket that's the main thing you start hoping you are able to achieve before you go.  But I have real fears about leaving kids behind too soon, so that one resonates quite a bit.

I just read this, I am heart broken for him and his family, literally sent a shock through me. Amir was actually my favorite coach USF has ever had, while CJL was good, Amir had more charisma than I’ve ever seen and was always sincere. Our thoughts and prayers to his family. It is indeed a sad day.
