This is the only time I met him and he let me wear “the ring”.  A truly awesome human being. Coach, you will be missed by so many people whose lives you’ve touched in such a positive way. Rest in peace.

A tragic loss and a harrowing reminder of how fragile life is. The USF family will never forget what a great man and leader he was. Let's all ensure that we show support to the family and allow for their privacy.

It was said somewhere else he had a brain tumor and was under going a surgery to remove blood clots. So there was a lot not known to the public.

Put up a statue, name part of the Yuengling Center after him.  This man arguably made more of an impact and left more of a legacy than any other MBB coach before him, in just 1 Year! It's a tragic loss and he should be remembered on campus for generations to come! RIP Coach, it won't be the same old South Florida without you!

This news moved me to come back to the site.

This is just incredibly sad terrible news.  No words can express.  My heart and prayers are with his wife and kids and the entire USF community.  He always had such a good energy to him that just rubbed off.  He was a man of God, so I'm sure he is in a good place.  

What a rough couple of weeks for the Tampa Bay and USF community.  Positive healing vibes go out to all!

A stroke a few weeks back and then surgery yesterday  to clear out the clot(s).
