Again, theoretically.  Investing $5 million in players that could be gone the very next year is hardly worth anybody’s time or money.

We don’t have an endless supply of money. And neither does Vinik.

This.

A stadium gives us our own revenue stream, our own identity, a better connection with students/alumni across generations, spurs things like the development happening at the old Claw, etc etc etc etc

NIL money will fizzle out every year with the portal and injuries. We need it but it's the quick acting pill. We need the long acting pill too.

If you could have convinced Vinik to put $5 million towards NIL we'd have 4 or 5 quality players. Having an OCS will convince absolutely no one in this day to come to USF.

i don't disagree since if we want to get into the ACC we have to win now. How can we argue right now that the ACC should add us over Memphis and Tulane.

I would be ok to maybe slow the OCS down a few years if that money could be diverted to NIL, better coordinators, and getting into a better conference.

I am still happy about getting the OCS, but your question about could the money be spent in a better way is valid

Too late now since there is no way the OCS  is being delayed.

I dont know. Just throw more money at the coaches. Maybe that will help.

Well, let’s just get the facts straight - we can’t get a loan from Truist that would otherwise be secured by a stadium to use on NIL or any other evaporative investment.

Absolutely true, and that's why I used the word if. But donated money probably could if donors agreed.

Need an AD who can successfully pick one first.

When they announced the OCS, I said that USF is always behind the times. Money should be going to NIL and not a stadium. I know you can't borrow money for NIL but your donors money would be better spent on hiring quality players. I'll stand by that until they prove me wrong. Playing in an OCS would not make a difference in the quality of play.

I also think we should have hired a proven g5 coach like Chadwell or Troy coach with experience coaching than a first year head coach with a first year oc. We lack talent and we lack offensive creativity. The defense is just bad.

If and when it is legal. But then again our donor money is not enough to compete with anybody for anything. It’s not the lion’s share of the stadium either.

This program just failed to cash in when it needed to.  We shot ourselves in the foot, multiple toes, and are now paying the price.

It’s harder to dig out than it is to do it right   Hats off to those trying.

The OCS announcement was the day after Cinci,UCF, and Houston were officially invited to Big12. It's a move of desperation. I don't know how it makes the team more profitable unless we sell lots of beer. In the end we who go to games are paying for it. Not the school
