Do you designate the player before the game?

If you name a QB1and he has Communication, does the QB2 not have the communication?

When Shuler went out in Week 1, no communication on D?

It makes sense that there is a depth chart for that too. Just only one at a time though.

If not, that would incentivise taking players out and would be a dangerous rule.
