Was thinking this.

I’m not saying some people don’t like them (grits are gross though and I don’t eat shrimp), I’m saying that it’s literally not things that were being eaten in the north east and Europe. It was cheap readily available things meant to be filling. Many of the ingredients i still find objectively vile.
