Coach will be good

To me it was simple…we had to have a TD there no matter what. The play calling was awful. I love Goach but those 4 calls, field goal included, was trash. He has to own that. We gave ourselves no shot. We got down there running off tackle and outside a bit and instead we go into the heart of the D three times. It’s not complicated. Our coaching staff let the team down.

At the end of the day, it is refreshing to be even having these conversations. Hell, I don't even know if we hang with bama with QF or CWT teams. CAG put us in position, we were just missing on offense to be able to hang.

I believe electing to kick the FG from inside the 5 with the game on the line on 4th down.  When we kicked that FG we admitted defeat and it should with Alabama scoring 4 straight TDS.  We go for it there this game ends much closer.  I dont want to say our defense quit because they played their ass off.  I feel like it took all of their energy and swag.

Even a blind person could see the inside was not there. Our guys were outmatched in the trenches. Play calling was not creative at all.

You only feel that way because that’s exactly what happened and was completely foreseeable

Definitely defensive about it. My read…he knows he lost the team after that series and is upset about it because he feels it was the right move and the team was still in the game.

I mean not exactly, it needs a follow up question about if the plays leading up to it reflected his wrongly held belief that a field goal there was somehow of value in this exact situation. If he called plays to protect the three points that signaled we gave up to our team, Alabama and most people watching (which is then exactly what happened as the question stated) he is beyond redemption. The team doesn’t need to react better to you raising the white flag and then claiming that’s not what you meant, you need to read the room better and not raise the white flag. +30 point dogs that are down in the final minutes against a top team in nation at their home don’t win by playing the sheet because the sheet already ******* said you lose, you win by being  bold (and it being bold leads to you losing so what that’s what was going to happen anyway, right?)

I agree we had nothing to lose and everything to gain. Worst case you play great field position game by having them on 5
