i care way less about the FG/TD

the reasoning was sound, in retrospect it didn't work out but OK rationale is fine

what I am very worried about is BB throwing ball after ball in the dirt

You go for the TD there…what did we have to lose? Field goals aren’t gonna beat Alabama.

True....I think Brown not able to hit a pass forced him to take points.

Horrible play calling in red zone.

Uh Brown is missing long balls, yes, but this was in the red zone.  BB is fine on short passes. How many did we throw tonight?…not much, it’s as if we have no TEs or short routes to the slot.  Does anyone really think BB can’t hit a TE on a bootleg?  Do we even have that in our playbook?  I’m just saying here, I expected to see more options than we saw tonight…how many actual play calls did we have?

I know you guys feel like we had a chance. We just aren't there yet. I don't know if you heard but Alabama hasn't lost a game at home against an unranked opponent for 17 years. I think it's cute that you thought our team would be the one to do it after 1 mediocre season with an extremely young and inexperienced QB who is still learning a system under a new 2nd year first time head coach. It sucks to lose when you think you can win, but honestly, we were never going to win because we just aren't there yet. We miss those openings in the defense when running because we aren't there yet. We overthrow passes to receivers 40 yards out because we aren't there yet. We decide to kick FGs instead of going for it when we've only scored 1 TD against Alabama in 8 quarters because WE AREN'T THERE YET. Stop whining about whether we made an attempt at trying to temporarily take a lead or not because the rest of the 4th quarter still happened. WE. AREN'T. THERE. YET.

You play the way we played to put yourself in position to go for it there. We were there to go for it and we didn’t. There is absolutely nothing a field goal does there and a TD lets you live to die another drive or maybe get lucky and don’t. No one that will ever be a problem a winner is focusing on how much on how to lose 3 points closer on your go for broke game. We need bumble bees that don’t know they aren’t supposed to fly and maybe at some point we would actually be there again instead of always inventing ways to just be on the outside for life.

The series in the zone was awful, the game plan and team prep was awesome, end of the day, love the dude.

The game and paly calling in the red zone reminded me when the local store gets in your favorite imported six pack and you love it so much until you are on the last beer and have none left. It leaves a taste of letdowns and regrets in your mouth, reminding you to prepare betting next and buy more beer. Our preparation has to meet our execution.

I don’t know.  Killer instinct of CJL is missing.  Maybe we’re cursed to never get it back.

Watched the presser and you can tell  Golesh is upset and hurting from the loss. I fully expect him to use this a point to learn and grow as a coach and team. I think the fight didn't die,but the talent and depth made up for the lack of coaching and prepartion. If we can play Bama at NicK Saban Field that tough we can beat anyone in the AAC if the bulls bring their game.

Golesh had no faith in BB to execute in the 2nd half, hence the play calling. Game went as expected aside from BB stinking up the joint. Feels almost like the Gator game a couple of years ago when Bohanan couldn’t make some key plays either and we squandered our chances then.

The litmus test of Golesh for me is avoiding UAB and FAU-esque debacles this season. Expectation has to be that USF squashes the AAC.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
