Why don’t you take a look at who he lost to and why we are not equivalent to the teams he lost to.

He actually only lost 14 games as a legitimate starter after taking over the significant QB work on 11/15/14 vs Oklahoma following Webb and Testaverde so saying he was 13-14 as a starter is a fairer assessment.

9 of those 14 losses were against teams ranked in the Top 20. 

Another 4 of those losses (non-Top 20) were road losses. Therefore, he only lost 1 game at Home against a non-Top 20 teams. He was in a tougher Big 12 conference than our Nerf ball AAC conference. Him losing to top tier teams and having a 13-14 record does not make him or Texas Tech in 2014-2016 beatable by 2024 USF. We lose to Top 20 teams by 30-35 pts until we don’t, TT had many very close single digit games against Top 20 teams.

Instead you quit, and *coincidentally* the entire team quits immediately after, and the whole night is a waste.  Nobody cares about losing 42 to whatever.  We can get Jeff Scott back if we want more *just one bad quarter* but otherwise a close game.

Hypothetically then does that apply to playing against the Miami Hurricanes of the 1980s/1990s who completely dominated as 4x national champions as well? Could this 2024 USF beat them? How about any matchup against a Super Bowl champion, should those games be winnable too? When we start losing games we actually should win this season, then there’s an argument to be made, otherwise it’s just whining that we aren’t a Top 3 team, which is ridiculous. As much as some think these were winnable games, they just weren’t. Be serious. Cam Ward will be a top QB in the NFL for the next decade. Could we have beaten a young Patrick Mahomes, how about Aaron Rodgers? Have some perspective. The road to greatness has a lot of bumps in it and the bumps are most evident when you’re playing against far superior opponents who punish you for not playing far above your talent level for all 60 minutes.
