It’s hard to compare quarterbacks because of the collapse of the Big East. He had a great season last year, but also didn’t face as challenging of schedule either.

No argument there.  Numbers are numbers.  But I agree I haven’t seen that killer instinct QF had, or the elevated level BJ brought, or even the scrappiness MG branded on us.  But I see our best QB who fought hard tonight, and had plenty of fight that will serve us well to possibly do what even none of those greats did…win our conference.

We played way better than I expected, but where were all these new-look plays we didn't use against BC to not show our hand to Bama?

I will keep telling myself we are saving them for confernece play.

Coach obviously could see BB was off.

Also, the hurry up did have them on their heels for 3 quarters.  I hate when it's working and then we seem to panic and get away from it when the game is on the line.

Golesh lost faith in BB…3 running plays within the 10 in that last series before things fell apart

With that said, game went nearly how I predicted, USF competitive Bama by 17

BB is off this year with his throwing. No idea what’s up. I see a hitch in his motion that seems much worse than last season. We are in trouble if this isn’t resolved.

Our defense was ranked 131 or something in the last few years and yet we were in this one because of their performance.  Having a competent defense creates optimism for the future.  Byrum Brown will be back to his usual form.  I truly believe that.

I want to listen to CAG's post game remarks again.   Whew boy.

I said this in another thread, but - the team I saw tonight will have a chance to win every game left on the schedule. That’s what I wanted to see and that’s what I saw.

Ok, glass half full time;

C. Orlando has done a  MASTERFUL job with the defense. Bama's O line is way bigger than our D line, and we went toe to toe w them  until the last 6 min when they just took us out  Bama's pass defense is stocked with Day 1 NFL draft picks. You can only throw when you have someone open.  BB DID have a bad game throwing, and maybe that will keep the biggest vultures from trying to poach him after this season. He'll be fine going forward. Golesh is hardest on himself. He'll learn and grow from this which will show up against Miami. Bama has( I think) a 27 game winning streak at home, so (😏). I feel WAY better now about our chances against Miami- though Cam Ward is another Heisman candidate. Finally, again, our Defense against a nationally top level Offense was amazing . We played even w # 4 for 3 1)2 quarters. We were given a 3% chance of winning. We are right where 99% of us expected us to be after these 2 games. Next game mentality now. Go and grow.👍

Agree..lots of positives.

Defense was causing all sorts of Havoc vs Bama.  Milrose most athletic qb we face all year...and at times he looked pretty subar.

Secondary actually had receivers pretty well covered most of the game.

O line at times was giving good time to qb and some running holes...vs a stacked Bama d.

Wright impressed me alot he ran hard.

Receivers did show separation vs a stacked Bama secondary.

We can win this conference if we can tighten up passing game and bring our A game.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
