American Athletic Conference Commissioner Tim Pernetti pitched the idea of a separate football playoff in the future for conference champions who don’t make the

Kelly said USF’s “entire focus is on finding a way to win the conference championship and to schedule an appropriately challenging nonconference slate for USF to earn a CFP berth. In a year that we fall short of our CFP goal, we will explore the best possible bowl or other postseason event opportunities that may become available in the future.”

That's profiling...and that's just wrong.

What do you really want? How many NIT tournaments do you need? But this is a potential revenue stream, and we all know how hard it is for those with a hand on the tiller to walk past some folding green!

Fire the new commissioner on that g5 playoff alone. Don't settle for crumbs  giving  into the power 2 and resolutions were fought for tea taxes. Let the power2 keep ruining college football and keep winning. To make it fun and fair the power4 conferences should have to give up their conferences revenue and playoff revenue when they lose to g5 teams in season and playoff play. That is just as absurd is lowering your worth with a g5 playoff. All college football programs should be paid on their tv views period not their whole conference.

No one wants to play for a JV trophy. It's a dumb idea and I can't believe some of these school Presidents and conference commissioners think it's a "good" idea that "will work." Talk about patronizing to the rest of the schools in those conferences.

Yeesh this guy is the complete antithesis of the previous commissioner.

One was shooting for the moon, the other digging the conference in to the ground.

This is not a time to lack self confidence, glad VPMK has no scruples to remain firm in our vision.
