I see a lot of belly aching about this game being hard. I hang 70 on my opponent most games and play on Heisman. Heres what works for me.

1. Speed kills in this game, if you’ve got a 95+ speed receiver and he’s being pressed, just hot route him to a streak, he’ll get open more than half the time.

2. RPO. If you’re playing veer and shoot - and you should - just run an “alert” play to the short side of the field. Watch the corner, if he’s pressing audible and do step 1. If he’s playing off, hike the ball and watch the corners movement, if he backs off, throw it to the receiver. If he doesn’t, run it if you have more lineman than they have defenders in the box.

3. ID the Mike. For example, if you’re running a stretch play, ID the Mike more on the outside. It doesn’t need to actually be the Mike. It just tells the lineman to go block that mofo.

4. Control linebackers on D and play zone. I tend to stick close to the TE. Will often get coverage sacks. If I play as a lineman the QB completed 90% of their passes, if I play as LB I get a coverage sack or int 30% of the time.

5. Learn revamped passing controls, lead the receiver.

6. Learn to read the defense pre-snap. If you can’t see a cover 1 or 3 you simply won’t do well in higher difficulties.

7. Juke, Spin, etc really ratchets up your fatigue and gets you into the dreaded “-19” speed and the like. Use these sparingly. And rotate your backs manually, either via the depth chart or in the formation section hit Y/triangle and replace the tired player bc the CPU doesn’t sub enough nor long enough.

I don’t know if these are all common knowledge but it’s what I’ve found works best.

In short: RPO, speed kills, ID the Mike, and don’t juke every down. You should wreck most teams.

TBP OD moved into the CFP last night. @Outlaw disposed of Miami (OH) last night and had a mass subs event in the second half. @BULLSHTR & UNC have a first round game to play and Georgia Tech has a bye in the first round. GT Head Coach Bobby Dodd was offered the Head Coaching positions at Arkansas and Ohio State during his bye week and, while flattered to receive interest, turned down both schools offer.

That's so funny because Miami OH was my G5 goat in year 1 as well.  Their WR won the Heisman.

@Outlaw had the Heisman winner with Cam Ward. 55 TDs, 15 INTs. I'm pretty sure he'll run the table to the CFP title. IF I have to play him it would be in the Semi's with how the bracket is situated. I think if either one of us meets with @BULLSHTR it'll be in the NCG. Either way, I think the ACC is gonna have the National Champion this year in one of us.

The latest patch seems to have added the ability to change your audibles in the Pause > Coaching menu instead of going into a flop sweat with the play clock ticking down.

By the way, a shoutout for the USF playbook:  In the wing formation there is a HB Angle play where if the LBs blitz you can pass to your halfback and go wild and if they fade back you can pass it to a wide open TE on a crossing route.  Big fan!
