If the rumors were true and he was willing to take around 4.5 million ; then it is a bad move.

Pur top 6 isn't better with Guentzel currently.  We lack a top 6 forward and a bottom 6 forward.

We still lack a top 6 forward winger or center 

Grigenson is a solid bottom 6 player better than Motte.

Defense didn't get better but out out of a bad contact for 2nd or 3rd paid left handed defenseman.  Sergachev was never going to get pp1 time with Hedman in front of him.Best for Sergachev to get his chance and dump a long term contract that didnt take the next step forward.

I will miss Stamkos and Sergachev.  I see the reasoning behind it, but I don't think we really got better or worse in the current year.

Geekie is our top prospect and may solve the top 6 center problem and send Cirelli down the third line eventually .

Geekie and Howard are the only guys that look like they have top 6 potential in farm system.

Dukes is another guy that could be called up with middle 6 forward potential. 

Gonglaves is an interesting choice for bottom 6.

I love Stamkos and wish there was a way to bring him back for around 5 million this season because we have the room and he fits a major need in the top 6.
