That will be a long night for those bussing it back to Birmingham after the game.

I kind of looked like that during the game, but even redder because of the nerves. Got a big lead early, than a long rain delay, followed by a rally by Notre Dame with us holding on for the win. Not good for my blood pressure.

Miss the times when we could beat anyone; anytime, anywhere. Hope Golesh can take us back to that level.

Two rain delays.

So much fun.  The delays erased the great time we were going to have in those nearby bars!  Probably for the best...

Staying at Homewood Suites by Hilton. A mile and a half from the stadium. Black Water Brewing is less than a half mile from the hotel. Loosa Brews is a brewhouse right at the halfway point for priming with an IPA called the BULLPEN SESSION IPA.

I’ll be there but I won’t be as lucky as you with the hotel arrangements

That game inspired such mixed emotions for me.

I was so excited to visit the much-ballyhooed Notre Dame campus and found it, well, underwhelming.

Had a great road trip with friends to have the mood killed by learning of the loss of Lee Roy.

Fully expected to win the game and seemed well on the way to doing that handily before Catholic voodoo weighed in with two massive lightning delays and nearly letting them off the hook.

Long, late train trip back to Chi-Town which killed some of the anticipated post-game celebrations.

But, hey, we won, and the next day's deep dish tasted all the sweeter.

Go Bulls!

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
