Who’s focusing on them?  Who cares?  This conversation that you’ve joined right now is about the game itself and the course it is taking.   I guess we should get back on topic, in a complimentary way.

Hey, ain’t that Kasean something?

I saw the Big 10’s Washington Huskies bought a player off my son’s team, Portland, for $500,000.  Will be nice depth for them.  They also bought another guy for $2 million (ESPN).

For 500K, I'll go put on a UCF shirt and play for them. I hate that school with everything in my bones, but 500k pays off my house and truck. I can do it for a year.

It's all in your perspective.  Whether it was the Bulls and the Threshers when I lived in Tampa Bay or the Bears and Crawdads now that I am in Hickory, I can still enjoy the minor leagues.

Well, you may have in the past but you moved up to the majors when you married your current bride. 😃

Still my best takeaway from USF.👍

No ****.

So it’s all the marbles or nothing?

When these cats say they love each other and have a special bond, they’re full of it?  I guess so.

Team sports aren’t about each getting their own or cashing out your teammates because you’re not one of two that have a near 50/50 chance at an NCAA championship.

Now I know you’re into instant gratification, so I get you, but I guess I expect more than that.  My problem in today’s NCAA/society.

No.  You sort of forget all their good fortune along the way, but to each his own opinion.

First of all, I absolutely hate what college sports has become with the transfer portal.  I am similar in age to you and have similar thoughts on how this is destroying the sport.  The only difference is I realize we are talking about college age kids getting 500k and expecting them to stick around for much less (if that is true) because they had a special locker room for a season. They are always going to chase the money because they are young and have never had it.  It is easy to have this high moral perspective that money is not everything, however you and I have that perspective because we have money now.  At their age I am getting paid, just accept it because you are sounding more and more like a grouchy old man yearning for those younger years, you can’t go back to what it was, that ship has sailed, accept it.

WTF? Louisville? That program is a mess right now - but the money was right. Ugh!

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
