Oh, I am not disagreeing with the decision.

I am really just curious if expectations are higher than should be expected given the talent pool available.

I mean, Florida is such a football state, expecting HCAG to recruit outstanding talent is a given.  I just wasn't sure about the true level of baseball talent in Florida that isn't going to the MLB draft or to the likes of Florida, Florida State, Miami, or other out of state top programs.

I will admit that I know nothing about high school baseball in general... so perhaps the collective expectations ARE realistic.

I know you were not disagreeing. Every college baseball coach has to deal with the same circumstances with NIL, portal transfers,   players getting drafted,   recruiting players, and developing talent. Some coaches are just better at  developing players,  get better results  from their players, and find ways to win more than other coaches. In sports there are three outcomes winning, losing, and ties. Ideally you want to win more games than you lose.

There is a TON of talent available to recruit to win the AAC regularly. Now if we struggled in a P4 world that would be another story.

The hard part in baseball and what i think CBM struggle with is guys signing, then going MLB.

That and he never got hats out of the baseball store (at the field) for purchase online. Killin me!

There is a lot of talent in Florida. Several of my  friends  growing up went to play division 1 baseball , were drafted from high school, and went to play professional baseball at differently  levels in the mid 2000s. I have been told by one of my friends that played d1 ball at unf, was drafted, and played minor ball  for a little bit there is more talent now than then. There are more travel teams than ever in Florida due to the population increase.

Usf doesn't have  a top150 draft prospect. I was surprised  to see ecu only has one listed yet Florida,Miami, and Fsu have several. There were several smaller Florida colleges with players in the top 150 draft prospects .Ironically ucf has zero top 150 MLB draft prospects.  I know some of the best college players were drafted in previous  years.

It's a shame Brutcher had an "off year", think he would have been graded as our highest prospect. The pitching was awful and will take some real development before we put someone from this team into the bigs. Have faith with Boser though if he can continue to develop.

Quite frankly though, if the entire team transferred I don't think I'd lose sleep over it, that's how unremarkable our baseball program has been. Losing Cantu hurt last year, but I don't think we have any Selton Miguel's or Kasean Pryor's on our baseball team. Maybe Boser? Is there anyone on the current roster that we'd be upset transferred? Give me a full reset similar to CAAR + MBB this season.

I don't think we are far off on the talent side of things. Maybe pitching but some better coaching and i think your current roster (outside of pitching) is top 3 in this conference.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
