It is clear you have some personal connection to  previous coach, and you are free to keep thinking he is a good coach for USF in your mind. Any coach who carries a 0.422 conference win percentage  in the AAC should be fired after being employed for seven years. I am done showing you the facts. This is GB versus BB all over again.  You have an unwaivering support and admiration for the fired coach.  Have a good day or not; the choice is yours.

Mohl's best season and most talented  roster was from the previous coach.  He was not able to recruit  and/or develop talent to compete against the top of the aac. He is what his record says he was as a the usf coach. Hopefully he finds  a place to bounce back, because America loves a comeback story.  He wasn't the right fit for usf and it was overdue to part  ways.

Oh, I am not disagreeing with the decision.

I am really just curious if expectations are higher than should be expected given the talent pool available.

I mean, Florida is such a football state, expecting HCAG to recruit outstanding talent is a given.  I just wasn't sure about the true level of baseball talent in Florida that isn't going to the MLB draft or to the likes of Florida, Florida State, Miami, or other out of state top programs.

I will admit that I know nothing about high school baseball in general... so perhaps the collective expectations ARE realistic.

There is a TON of talent available to recruit to win the AAC regularly. Now if we struggled in a P4 world that would be another story.

The hard part in baseball and what i think CBM struggle with is guys signing, then going MLB.

That and he never got hats out of the baseball store (at the field) for purchase online. Killin me!

CBM I think did lose quite a few guys to the draft out of highschool. I think two years ago it was, we had a top 15-25ish recruiting class and lost something like 4 of our top recruits to the MLB draft. Now, could that be "we weren't as good as we could have been at recruiting"? Possibly. Plenty of schools retain their recruits that get selected in the MLB draft out of HS, and then again there are plenty who want to get straight to low-A.

As for recruiting in Florida, it's similar to football. If we built a wall around Tampa Bay and retained the talent in our metro? We would have top 10 classes every year. Jesuit and Sarasota are two of the top producers of MLB talent in the country.  Not to mention our exposure to the Cuban, Puerto Rican, and Dominican communities in Central/South Florida and the Carribbean. Unfortunately, our biggest competition for baseball recruits are the same as football - UF/FSU/MIA + SEC schools. Why SEC/ACC schools are so good consistently doesn't require much explanation. But, why we have been outperformed by c over these last 10 years, like football, is unacceptable.

It's a tough job - recruiting college baseball. You have to recruit good players, but not players who are too good. This bit Eddie Cardieri in the rear end, also. He had guys like Ian Desmond, Tyler Clippard and others committed who never made it to campus and eventually ended up in MLB.

Also, aren’t baseball schollies a different animal in comparison to football/basketball and maybe the NIL could possibly play a big role these days?

His record isn't what I responded to.   You have no clue Felecia.
