With all the attendance talk on other threads, I have a serious question for those in the know.  The OCS will purportedly have 35,000 seats.  Is there a fire marshal capacity for the number of people allowed inside the gates?  I'm asking because with the concourses open to the field and areas under the stands, might we have the ability to sell an additional 2,000 or so standing room only?  I could see some fans being happy just getting in and then milling around the concourses and watching some of the game on TVs like a lot of people choose to do at RayJay, mostly to get out of the sun.

There was a BullSpeedAhead podcast some time ago where Michael mentioned the stadium had the ability to be expanded by 12,000 seats.

Just saw an article that MLS expanded to San Diego and that the MLS team will share Snapdragon stadium, the new San Diego State stadium, with San Diego State.

Hope it is not something we would ever consider doing with the new stadium.

Just me, but if I were building a shiny new on-campus stadium, I would be looking for every way in the world to use it as often as possible in a profitable manner.

Except tractor pulls and monster truck jams .... we have to have a cut-off point.

I think this was discussed before, but I hope the field will handle MLS/FICA pitch size requirements.

Love money, and it be great if we can have one day events at our new stadium, but sharing a stadium with other sports teams will lead to all sorts of problems. From scheduling problems to issues where you have to share signage,...

My biggest problem with Ray Jay was that we had to share the stadium with the Bucs. Ray Jay never felt our own starting with the red, pirate ship, Bucs promotions . It was even worse when the Mutiny was still in Tampa. Went to a MLS game at Ray Jay once and the field looked awful with soccer lines mixed with football lines,... The last thing I want to see when visiting our stadium would be reminders that we are sharing the field with a professional team of some sorts.
