$43 a month? For me, that will NEVER happen.

Venu really seems like an option for those without cable.  Many if not all of the offerings they provide are TV networks.  If you have cable, you probably don't need Venu.

Disney's streaming services turned a profit for the first time this quarter. That includes Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+.

And Disney is raising the prices on all of those channels.  I just read it today.

Indeed...ESPN+ is going up.

A quick analysis shows that I can get all of the VENU offerings via the Sling $15/mo. Sports Extra. If I tack on $10.99 for ESPN+, that's $26. Considerably less than the $43 as VENUE is advertised.  The only thing I wouldn't get would be TruTV - which has marginal value during March Madness. My sports interest runs through the college football and basketball seasons. Once the tournament is finito, so am I, hence the relentless cancelling of sports add-on offerings.

Is it possible that phase II of the project is making those channels available ONLY via VENU, in that they would be yanked from your cable or streaming provider?

Unless I'm missing something though, the bundle for all 3 isn't going up .............yet.

Here's how it looks to me... the highlighted cells are VENU channels in common with Sling Sports Pack ($15). The "Other Access Modes" column denotes the VENU channels that are available either over-the-air (OTA) or on the standard Sling availability. I have to believe that there's more to Venu than just this collection of channels. Do they have some library of material (e.g. old games, etc.) that is the selling point? Did I miss some VENU channels?

Now, if you don't have something like Sling, Hulu, Fubo, Direct TV, etc. I can see where Venu would be of some value.  I'm also assuming that VENU allows you to cancel on a monthly basis, right - not locked in for a year. Bear in mind that although I get all of those with Sling Sports Pack, I certainly don't watch them all (e.g., NBA, tennis, etc.).

It was hard to read in the article in that the two bundle went up but nothing was said about the three bundle (I still have that one, too).  They won't miss their chance with us.

The article I saw had the two bundle, D+/Hulu both ad-free staying at $19.99 but, like you said, no mention of the three that included E+ ....

The higher prices, which go into effect Oct. 17, are of course aimed at boosting Disney’s top-line streaming revenue and, ideally, their profitability. For now, the pricing for the recently introduced Disney+/Hulu/Max combo offered in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery will remain unchanged, and the Disney+/Hulu Premium no-ads bundle will stay at $19.99/month.

Got to keep up with the transitory inflation to turn more profits.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
