JC QB is trans. to USF (from the ST PETE Times)

Who cares if he is short if the kid can play then he will I hate people that tell kids that they can do something because he is too short or he has some kid of disability. Those of you know why I get so pissed about things like this people told me I could play football because of my hand and I showed them wrong. So lets give the kid a chance ****!!!!

After watching video of Jimmy Oliver many things stand out.  He is very decisive with the ball, he knows where to throw to and gets rid of the ball quickly.  He has great touch and can drop the deep ball over defenders very well.  He uses his feet to buy himself time and he always knows where his receivers are.  He looks perfect for USF, he is everything PJ is not.

I just want to clear the air here a little bit.  I never discreditted Greg on this story.  I just talked to Jimmy and told you all what I was told.  This whole thing is kinda weird any way, but it'll probably be resolved in a day or two.  Greg is also right about me saying I think he will be here in the end.  I put that on my web site and thought i had mentioned it here.   Assuming he gets his grades in order.........

Two yrs in a row USF wiffed on good JUCO LBs 'cuz of this reason.  I swore never to consider them making it to campus.  Hall is the only JUCO xception I can bring to mind that has been a major contributor.  JMHO.

just to update, i talked again today with oliver's coach at pearl river. he said it's a done deal, also said oliver has finished his classes at pearl river and should be fine academically to transfer to USF. the academics are probably the only catch in this -- same coach told me last summer that gene coleman was good to go grade-wise, and that never panned out because of academic issues.

I love how people cite two examples of short QB's who were actually worth a darn, then fail to mention that for every freak like Doug Flutie or Charlie Ward (who played behind a GREAt O line which we do not have) there 1000 Courtney Densons.

But for a SELECT few freaks, short QB's do not work at this level.  CD could have tore it up agains San Diego State,  UNH, NIU NT, or whatever other D1AA programs we used to play too.  CD was supposed to be the second coming and when he faced real competition he sucked.
