Honestly at this point. I'll take any bowl game. We could play The School of the Blind at the Comet Toilet Bowl Cleaner Bowl at 6am @ Arkansas City High School Stadium and I would be satisfied.

Could you imaging the goody bags for that one?

A question to those who are in the know. I know 5 games now can be enough to make it to a bowl game. How do they decide these things? Would 5 games be enough in our case?

Marshall, Wake Forrest, Auburn would all be interesting games. I will take any bowl game.

There's a caveat associated with a five-win team:

The NCAA’s Division I Council passed a new rule regarding 6-6 and 5-7 teams with respect to bowl eligibility, according to a release.

The Council determined that all bowl-eligible teams with 6-6 records must be selected for a bowl game before any teams with a 5-7 record can be considered.

The rule basically ensures that a 5-7 team won’t be able to get in a better bowl over a 6-6 team.freestar

As for the 5-7 teams, here’s how they will become eligible:

After all bowl-eligible teams are selected, the 5-7 teams – which will be considered alternates – will be deemed eligible in descending order from the highest multiyear Academic Progress Rate in the Football Bowl Subdivision for the most recent reporting year.  Those teams will then select the bowl in which they will participate.

“It’s impossible to project how many eligible bowl teams we will have,” said Bob Bowlsby, chair of the football oversight committee and commissioner of the Big 12 Conference said in the release. “We think we have a selection process in the postseason that makes sense and is fair to the schools and the bowls.”

During the 2015 season, only three 5-7 teams played in bowl games.

Would love any SEC team in Birmingham.  Game is on Saturday at 11am CT.  Easy flight up Friday morning and could fly back after the game Saturday night.  Home in time for Christmas eve eve.

Did the drive home after the Papa John bowl which started later in the day. With the early start the drive would be easier. But there is no travel in our future this bowl season.

You're serious? Unless we improve greatly we aren't beating a middle of the road SEC team.

I guess it depends on that team's makeup.

Auburn has a history of not caring about post season exhibition games so we may have a chance ....

Hopefully we get the Gasparilla Bowl. Easy travel game.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
