Crowd was ok. Don't think it was 36k, maybe closer to 28-30k. Would rather sell out our stadium than open something and not even fill it for first game.

EDIT: Student section was great. Good on them. They were the MVPs of the first home game.

I think 36k is about accurate, maybe around 33k-35k. Home side was 90% full along with the student section. Both endzones were full too, wish we could fill the bottom bowl with green and gold.

I noticed this as well. Not much crowd involvement outside big play cheering. The students tried to get the wave going but it sputtered out after a few sections. The concessions and restrooms also seemed empty for what was a pretty good turnout.

I recall the students trying to start the wave...while we were on offense and the game was still in question.  😕

You're kidding, right? Trying to start it was bad enough but under those circumstances ...... hopefully the band was smart enough to quell it.

Is the new basketball rodeo group going to football games?  They showed up in force but need a leader during the game.

Okay was how I also described the crowd. I would have been guessing in the 20/25k range. Not sure why actual, in-stadium attendance is treated like top secret info.

How many tickets were issued? This is apparently the only number we are allowed to know.

How many tickets were paid for?

How many people walked in the stadium?

Not that hard.

No, not difficult - just not advantageous. If every school out there not named Michigan, Alabama or Notre Dame use the 'tix distributed' metric, we're all on the same, etched in pencil, page. Imagine the humiliation that any number of schools would have to suffer it was trip-the-turnstile counting that mattered. But, our good friends at the NCAA do have a minimum ticketing requirement for FBS eligibility: http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/AMA/Division I Forms/2010-11 FBS Forms/Football Bowl Subqa 12 8 10.pdf.

This is from several years ago, but engaging, nonetheless.

I just think this stuff is interesting. Not that it matters if we're all doing the same thing, just saying that desperate times call for distributed tickets!  😲

It is only getting old because Outlaw forgot to include the logo…
