I'll think we'll see this occur at many of the older stadiums where there are limited premium areas for fans.

Yes.  It's astounding that they are planning to spend $450 million on a renovation.  Cosmo Kramer Mind Blown GIF

Kind of reminds me of when people have to pay tons of money for having tattoos removed or breast implant removals lol. Tons of older stadiums are basically outdated.

I would have to think a good portion of that of $450 million is going toward "demolition" of the existing structure.

Might be nice to find a stadium comparison chart.  They have rankings for everything don't they.  I wonder where RJS is listed?

I won’t be surprised to see RJS looking to renovate in the not so distant future. Think they will keep their seat capacity around 65k but will figure out how to add overhang structures for shade. Basically half the side of the stadium gets too hot due to lack of shade. Other than that RJS has been a great venue and will continue to host SuperBowls. I’m hoping they can host a college football playoff game again too

I think you are correct that there's room to improve RJS.

Agree about RJS coming up to major renovations again.

Once thing I found interesting in Coach Leavitt's tweet was the assumption that RJS is still that powerful of a recruiting tool. It certainly was back when he was coaching, but today's players do not feel the same way.

I think RJS was indeed a great recruiting tool for CJL, but there was a time when that was like the only thing he had.  No facilities.  No cool locker room.  No IPF.  No trophies.  The OCS is about the University as a whole and creating future generations of fans who can remember attending games when they were in college.  It brings the game day experience to the campus and all that.  That's why we need it.  I remember some great games in that red and pewter stadium, but I'll trade it for our own in a heart beat.  I can't really speak to how players feel about where they play.
