I'd like to disagree - but the reality is quite true sadly. They are a phenomenal school, but take this into account. Rice was established in 1912, or 110 years ago. In that time, they've totaled 84,000 alumni, with a large percentage of them no longer on this earth (~60k living). Even if you remove the academically-focused variable (near-ivy league level), they literally just do not have the # of living alumni to fill even the largest stadium in their own conference. To put that into perspective, USF has more than 260,000 alumni living in the state of Florida alone.

Quite outstanding when you realize their endowment is nearly $8B.

Anyways, **** 'em. Bulls gon win the foosball game.

I think that's true. The idea that Rice would bring the AAC the Houston market was weird.

However, I am still excited about this game regardless since i really think we can win this game, and starting 2-2 after the last 4 years will be a good feeling. So if I am a USF fan living in the Tampa area I would show up no matter who the opposition is.

I have been told by a former  Houston player(my old neighbor) that Houston isn't even the most popular or most watched college team in the Houston market. He said you have more Texas and TAMU fans. This doesn't even bring in TCU or Baylor fans. He told me this during 2020 so I do not  know if that changed.

That seems reasonable. Texas and A&M are the big draws, much like FSU & Florida are in Tampa. Although USF is in Tampa, I suspect that a poll of the bay area populous would show more interest in Gainesville & Tally-hassle, as we see with local media coverage. Serve your market's interest.

The good news is that the weather forecast is looking good for Saturday.

So people will be at the beach?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
