Jamal will be a tough one to hold on to he still has an FSU visit.  But his teammate Dylan committed the same night and that could be enough to keep him a USF commit.

Your right, finishing 8-3 starting 10 freshman/RS freshmen/sophomores in the SEC is really easy, especially when you have a new coach. Beating 2 BCS teams is easy too right. I'm not here to crap on USF, I am a holder of 8 season tickets (been one since 1999) and my son currently attends school there, in fact we're going to the bowl in Charlotte and then comming home for the outback. I believe USF is a great rising program that has a future in the landscape of college football.

I'm just sick of people on this board crapping on the other state programs and then turning and acting like you would put up a fight against them. I constantly see posts about needing to "stampede" because someone makes a comment that isn't THAT offensive to your program and then most of you turning around and calling Florida fans "Gaytors." of stating how FSU's coach is old.

Most Florida fans in Tampa support your program, in fact a few years ago the Pinellas Gator Club took a group trip to your game on an off week.

When deciding to say which teams do/or know how to use recruits or saying that Florida has problems because they cannot hang on to a QB (Snead and Portis comment, which is merely because the number 1 QB in the country is commiting to UF Tuesday, those guys knew playing time would be hard to come by and chose to go somewhere else) get your facts straight.

Note: 6-5 does not mean there yet in big time college football so please don't be so freaking arrogant before you "there" it draws people off.

Recruiting polls mean nothing.  We had "Top" recruits come in that never played.  Rankings of recruits are simliar to NFL Draft lists, they are based alot on paper statistics.  Just because a guy is 6'5'', or runs a 4.4 doesn't mean a thing about his heart, determination, and work ethic.  Those are the qualities that make stars.  I have no problem with the experts saying our recruiting class isn't in the Top 25, as long as we bring in our talent, work them hard, and develop them into the stars they can be.

fbdo, I agree kinda, and disagree.

I don't think we've ever really had the "top" recruits your thinking of just yet and if we had it was because they either a) flunked out ; lost their scholly because of injury,; or c) were a cancer to the team above and transferred.

You cannot campare the NFL draft to this, the NFL draft is a pool of 500 guys who we know can play, its just a matter of playing at the next level. Whereas college football recruiting immediatly picks out the best and is able to compare them through a series of combines that weeds those out that could be phonies.

Most the guys rated in the top 100 turn out to be solid college players, which is what the ranking is used for, not for how well they will do in the pros. 2 years ago

I can go on, but these guys doing this are usually pretty money, Texas had the #1 class 3 years ago..where are they now..etc.

That being said you cannot judge players heart, etc. But the grind gets harder when you get to a BCS level, and I think that could have been one of the problems for finishing the way we did, this team played with a lot of heart, but just wasn't as talented and more worn than some of the other teams we played at times.

That will change as our classes get better, no doubt in that.
