Under the new system 5 of the last 6 BCS seasons would have included a non BCS team including TCU this system (the article says 4 of last 6 but it is from 2004 and doesn't inlude this season). Basically a NON- BCS team needs to finish in the top 12 or above the lowest ranked BCS team (which would be Florida State this year) to make a BCS game, only one NON-BCS team is allowed unless one team finishes in the top 6 of the BCS.

The way you stated it in the other post, "PS - Starting next year the team with the highest BCS ranking from CUSA, MWC, WAC, and to a much less extent MAC and SUNBELT get a BCS bid", I read it that the highest BCS ranking from those other conferences get a BCS bid PERIOD. I didn't think that was right.

They will need to finish in the top 12 or 16th or higher if a BCS champ finishes 17th or lower ....

Ya , 6 of the 8 BCS seasons would have included a Non BCS team, the only years that would not have included a team is the 1998 and 2000 seasons. It will be rare that one of these teams not make a BCS bowl.

I read somewhere that the BCS used for the rankings of leagues is going to be changed so it doesnt read the ranking of the champion BUT the highest BCS ranking in the league.

This way the ACC would use Miami's #8 ranking.

The leagues with a championship game are not stupid and realize that if their champion comes out like a Colorado beating Texas and is unranked ,their BCS avg would take a hit. So this way they are still protected and TCU would NOT qualify this year because they are not #12 or higher and each of the BCS leagues has someone in their leagues higher than them.

I dunno if that is true, Brad Edwards (ESPN) said yesterday that TCU would be eligible this year and 6 of the 8 years non-BCS teams would have made it mentioned the teams I did earlier. The idea of this was to prevent the Non-BCS conferences from bringing an Anti-trust suit.

The BCS has added all conference logos to it site too

Under the current wording, that's correct, Cuban's saying they may change that, which makes sense based on the FSU scenario this year ...... plus, our skunk scenario being two games away from a reality.

I doubt it we'd have an antitrust suit on our hands again, the 5th game was added specifically to give a NON-BCS team a spot.

But not a guaranteed spot .....

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
