The ridicule USF is taking is a step forward in my opinion. We're getting recognition now, this is good! The truth is hardly anyone (except ourselves) knows how good our team is and how promising the future looks.

To use an analogy, we're a small cap stock with huge growth rates, but the big analyts aren't covering us yet, hence, we're not getting the recognition we deserve. We're being punished for being young and under the radar....but it won't last forever. It can't, not if we keep doing what we're doing.

This is our first bowl, don't let the haters spoil it.

that being said-most of the country doens't put much stock in usf.

I don't understand why these guys make such a big deal out of the lower bowl games.  If you are truly a fan of college football, you will watch whatever game is on.  And as far as the Meineke Bowl, sure the National Championship isn't on the line, or even a national ranking, but as far as I'm concerned, two Division I teams that have a 6-5 record playing each other sounds like a good matchup.  I don't know about everyone else, but when I watch a college football game, I watch it b/c it is football, and I am always hoping for a good finish (unless it is USF, then I want a Bulls blowout).  Hell, one of the most exciting games I watched all year was the MAC Championship game between Akron and N. Illinois!  It was a hard fought game with a great finish.  I don't care if it was two high school teams, that was an entertaining game, and many times, the lower bowls are much more intriguing than the BCS games.

I have to agree.  Would you want  to watch a 6-5 Arizona State team play a 6-5 Purdue team?  There are way too many bowl games out there.  If you want to watch the game, thats fine, but don't expect everyone in the country to want to watch it.  Especially a guy that is from LA.  Our game has no value to somewone like him.

The only people watching our game will be the NC State and USF fans that couldn't attend the game.

Listen maybe you guys aren't getting my point.  After reading some of your reactions, now I'm thinking he singled us out, that's even worse. I would agree that negative attention is better than no attention at all. I agree that there are meaningless bowl games BUT if you know a little about USF's history you can find SOME meaning.  Until they get rid of the bowl system I don't want to hear the media put teams down for being in a bowl game.  I bet we'll get better ratings on game day than Around the Horn gets on any given day of the week.

No one in here hates the lose to Pitt this year more than I do.  Trust me SMAZZA, I understand.
