So two years is possible then. Is this considered a state of the art stadium?  I thought this was the stadium that has no shade and people passing out at because if heat exhaustion .

You are correct about people passing out their game early in the season.

One thing that we will have to deal with that SDSU will not is the inclement weather that is in the area this time of the year. I'm not sure how that could slow construction, but it's certainly a possibility.

I really like the look of SDSU's stadium. I feel ours will be even better.

I would rather usf do it right instead of have issues that sdsu and ucf at the start.

Best I can tell Baylor is the only college field with built in shade. And the visitor sideline is only partly shaded with that. Only 10 pro stadiums have shade. Tampa and Miami are not one of them.

Baylor has a nice stadium and they did a good job adding the shade . I have some cousins and cousin in-laws that went to  TCU, Baylor, SMU, and A&M. TCU and A&M have beautiful stadiums as well.

It's funny to me that Arizona State still has not figured you the shade issue.   The high lately has been 117...by kickoff in August/early September it will still be a blazing sun and over 100.

A few years ago they were going to put a cover over the stadium, made up of some type of fabric, but I think that got derailed.

So while everyone wants shade, it's really going to take some creative thinking and $$$ to provide it (in some places).

It's not just possible ... they don't even need 24 months - some recent college football stadiums:

UAB: Broke ground December 18, 2019 -- Opened October 2, 2021

South Alabama: Broke ground August 6, 2018 -- Opened September 12, 2020

Colorado State: Broke ground September 14, 2015 -- Opened August 5, 2017

Tulane: Broke ground January 28, 2013 -- Opened September 6, 2014

Houston: Broke ground February 8, 2013 -- Opened August 29, 2014

Baylor: Broke ground September 15, 2012 -- Opened August 31, 2014

Charlotte: Broke ground April 28, 2011 -- Opened August 31, 2013

North Texas: Broke ground November 21, 2009 -- Opened September 10, 2011
