Really think we should have added teams like Appalachian State, Toledo, Marshall, and Army since those teams would have brought better football to the conference. The AAC decided to focus on bringing in teams from Texas or from big metropolitan areas instead of focusing on quality. I think that was the wrong decision. Don't know why we needed 3 teams from Texas.

 

If big 12 can still call themselves P5 after losing all of their powerhouse schools then I don’t see any reason why AAC can’t call themselves P6

Because they didn’t unilaterally make it up and have no one else swallow it after a decade of trying to force it down people’s throats?

I mean TCU was just in the National Championship so they have a little more credibility than the AAC.

I actually forgot all about TCU being in the championship game lol. Can’t wait until the playoffs gets tougher with added teams.

They were there  last year and had no business being there. Now people will complain but there were better teams from tougher conferences left out. That is true. Bama would beat the brakes off of them and basically the real champion was the SEC title game.  Why I think at minimum there needs to be 16 team playoffs. All major conferences power5 and group of 5  and then there are 6 best team available spots. You may be lucky enough to experience a major upset, but it will be very unlikely a team that doesn't deserve to make it the championship makes it there.

It may get there eventually. I’m just happy they are expanding beyond the boring 4 playoff format that was in place. I will actually start watching it again but will always be rooting for the underdogs which will be the 6th rated conference champion lol

How did that work our playing against a real  football conference ? Tcu would have been at best 5-3 in sec schedule  play.
