Yes, I had never been to the old Sombrero and cannot speak to their seats but the seat that have existed the entire time we have been playing FBS football would be by definition our traditional seats and the ones that have never existed would not be traditional be them Green, Gold or Apple. So why pick on apple?

I think I just had an indentation from Bucs vs. Bengals in 1995 disappear a week or two ago.  There has to be a categorization between temporary and permanent.

I love the idea of a standing area for students a la soccer supporter sections.  Maybe have half the seating in the center behind the endzone be standing with rails and put in bleachers on each side, one section for students and one section for the band.  Plus a raked concourse behind to hang out and still see the field?

Also, in terms of steepness, can someone explain the science about why that would create more noise? I am assuming that it is because it would be a wall of sound as opposed to a shorter wall of sound if it was a gentle slope?

Steeper means the stands are closer to the field, also the space holding the same numbers of seats would be taller. You'd have the taller bowl to trap noise in better.

I feel like a lot of students wouldn't like that, I don't mind but the non-diehards will probably hate the standing seats.*edit* I'll be graduating by the time its done... they should survey the freshmen about what they want.
