I always felt 40k was the right size for OCS, that was when we were in the Big East. With attendance trending down, I’m not at all dissatisfied with 35k. A large capacity that’s empty is probably worse. If we did 40+k for the same price, somewhere the level of quality would have to suffer.

Dukes stadium doesn’t look so bad, and if you remove the track, you can get the fans closer to the field.

So I was reading somewhere that if the BIG or SEC expanded with Duke, their stadium capacity would be the smallest in both conferences.  Aren't they around 40K?  I'm hoping that the great minds leading us in this have considered realignment implications of building too small.

We joke but I actually thought the Duke stadium looked awesome in that Notre Dame game.  And it sounded loud in there.

The kinda sad part there was that it sounded loud for Notre Dame .....

Yes I was impressed.  Imagine the possibilities for Bulls fans...  And when we get a rowdy section dedicated to raising heck.

Grass areas, green seats, and a dug in field would be awesome.

And it could be WET. Can't dig down very far in Florida without hitting the water table.... and draining the field during a Florida thunderstorm could be a challenge.

They would have to build UP around the stadium to allow it do then come back down to the current level... that would add a lot to the cost.

The stadium location is about 20 meters above sea level, but only 12-15 meters above the wetlands to the northeast.

Look toward the Business Bunker for this design.  My old stomping grounds.  I always wanted to mow it.

I think Raymond James Stadium is only something like 11 meters.

This^.  Pushing dirt into a circle has to be the same cost as digging a hole.  I like the look of walking up an incline on the outside and then entering the venue between the first and second levels.  This would be just like the ramp/incline entering the YC but probably twice as high.  This is the OPPOSITE of Oviedo stadium and arena where you walk up ramps and stairs after you've entered the venue.

Yes, Duke's stadium has been approximately 40k since 2016.
