How do the Bucs manage the heat? BY WINNING!

Ha.  This is so true.  I swear the noon game up at FSU in 2009 was unbearably hot, but I didn't mind a bit because we won, and it felt good.  Contrast that with the 2010 game against UF where it was hot as hell, but we lost...I promise you if we'd have come away with a W, I wouldn't have minded the heat.  You can't expect people to sit in 100+ degrees with no breeze to watch the product we have been putting on the field for the last few years, but if we don't upgrade the product on the field, it will be a bad experience regardless of the time of day or shade from the sun.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I do not want shade. Given our budget, I'd rather shade be an long-term upgrade item (if demanded) and build a truly first-class stadium first without it. Playing night games would be great too. It's hot across the country in September and some of the hottest stadiums still produce rabid fanbases and packed stadiums (S. Carolina, UF, etc.). Include sunscreen stations like at PGA events and have plenty of water. Build large concourses for fans to escape the sun if they need to during slow/stopped periods. And quite frankly, shading the entire field takes the sun away from those who welcome it.

Built North-South, the west side will be shaded when the afternoon hits - so it's built in if we have a tall west side club/media section.

As someone else mentioned - winning cures everything. If we do that, temperature is just a number and the sun can be worked around (sunscreen, hats, etc.)

Shade was the biggest topic in all of the focus groups that were conducted back in the Spring.

Well that's encouraging. They can't say they overlooked the issue!

They are looking into everything and seeing what can be done based on the feedback that was received.

That shade part would have to be done a certain way as to not fly around Tampa during a storm.

Hard Rock in Miami has shade that I'm assuming is graded for some serious storms, could go that style

Their shade covers the whole stadium except for the playing field and visitors bench a lot of the time which could be a nice little advantage...

I would assume that it will be designed to withstand at least 140-150mph winds.

I'm intrigued by this feature.  And they have had some storms come close at least.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
