That's really a cool story about Sporting Kansas City but I honestly think there's little to no correlation between that and our situation here .....

Is it okay to maybe mention using the stadium as an excuse for reworking the pregame (Gimme a U, ooh that's hot, etc) and perhaps maaaaaybe, a different pregame announcer?

Not really.  They pay athletic fees with their tuition....  so like cable subscribers who don't watch ESPN, there are a lot of students who subsidize the "free" tickets to USF athletic events for those who want to ho.

I couldn’t attend one. So was it just getting peoples ideas or did they present anything?

This week they are having "listening sessions".  So it's getting ideas from various stakeholder groups.
