Really though, the OC is just OBVIOUS.  WVU has a better team than us, but you'd think we didnt play to win at all based on the playcalling.

Are you really saying we can't be 8-3 this season, with our losses being to WVU, Miami, and Penn State?  What about that Pitt game and that UConn game did our defense kill us with?  A special team mistake or two hurt, but let's look at it this way:

I know of no team in 1-a for a long time that has a winning record when they score less than 20 points.  Not making that count vs miami or penn state is understandable.  Not making that count vs uconn (which cincy could, by the way) or vs pitt?  Come on.  Rather than putting us over 20, our O handed pitt enough turnovers to beat us.

If one side of the ball is consistently (and it certainly has been consistent) worse than the other, its time for an upgrade...

DId Smith make does bad passes or mishandle the ball? No. I am in no way saying that Smith is an all world OC, but the play goes through the HC before it is sent out to the field. The players make the execution and our QB isn't good enough to execute the plays, our Oline cannot hold up long enough against stronger Ds and our WRs frequently tip and drop passes.

Yes, we could have easily beat UCONN, but we didn't saying we could be 8-3 is like a Gator saying they could be 10-1 if their offense had executed against SC and LSU like it did for FSU.

I feel most people on the board aren't looking at the fact that half these kids would be sitting bench at most BCS schools. Give them time to recruit the upper level kids before you go smacking the OC and the players so that they can execute the offense at a big time level.

OH - and gee...  should we be concerned that during the last regular season game, CH had to refer to his cheat sheet (which was HUGE - so big he was wearing it on his waist!!) for EVERY FREAKIN PLAY!?!?!?!?  Is he NOT studying the offense - does he NOT have a grasp on it yet...  after a year?!?!

Again - sorry folks.. venting..  and frustrated..   and already worried about "next year"...     :-/

(Sigh)  Ok, Redshirt freshman QBs very rarely play at the Division I level.  When they do, they typically don't know the offense, and make a ton of mistakes.  Even the very highly recruited ones.  The fact that CHill could run the offense and generate scores against a top defense is a good sign.

FSU has the two of the top five rated QBs from last years recruiting class.  They both redshirted last year.  Weatherford has been reasonably good, but not a world beater.  Xavier Lee still hasn't figured out how to play college ball.  He was a lot more highly rated then Hill.  Repeat to self as many times as necessary:

We must be patient...

We must be patient...

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
