This thread makes me wonder if fan, alumni, staff, booster, etc. feedback on the final stadium design(s) will be sought.

It's 3 miles off stadium .... on their land and it's their stadium.  It also probably helps that they've been playing football since 1892 ..... apples to oranges

Not sure what "THEIR" land has to do with it... there's literally nothing else there execpt the stadium and football practice facility.  Students have to get in a car or on a bus to make the trek.  They could technically "walk" but the route is not pedestrian friendly.

3 miles or 12 miles through city traffic and malfunction junction is quite a disparity.  The oldest daughter had to pay an additional 400 dollars a year for a sports pass and they regularly put over 100k in the stadium, that is about as comparable as apples to oranges with our situation. There are other schools that may not have the problem but if you think playing in the cavernous Ray Jay is our long term solution then you are out to lunch.

Not at all, I support (personally and financially) the OCS.

But the OCS is not a panacea for all that ails us.  It's not like the students flock to the on campus arena for basketball just because it's there.  They have to WANT to go.

My God this is glorious. UCF can't stand that we're about to get a better stadium than them. If this is a preview of what's to come I'm all for it.

It's a physical impossibility not to.

Not sure many actually looked at this but the 5 year average, including 3 of the worst seasons in the history of the program, was higher than 2 of the 3 AAC teams leaving. There are lot of positives with an ocs, and I am definitely on board, but the only attendance that will be noticeably affected will be the students.

There assuredly are a ton of variables that go into a P5 invite, and some of the positives that will occur with an ocs will help some of those, but curious to know opinions on if our and the Kanigit's records were reversed over the last decade would we have gotten the B12 invite over them despite playing in the shadow of a pirate ship ........... I'm thinking yes.

Zero doubt that if our records were reversed in the last decade that we would have been admitted to the Big 12. I would take it even further that if we had continued winning in Strong's third year regardless of UCFs record that we would have been admitted to the Big 12 as well.

Honestly, I don't think we would have. At that point, they had won 4 conference championships and had the splash exhibition games wins. We would have had to have exploded, in a good way, under Chuck and they would have had to have had a 3 year run like we just did for any chance to supplant them. We may have had a better shot to take Houston's place but the B12 may have wanted to add a Texas team to replace UT so that may not have worked out either.

I agree, It is not going to solve all our problems however it still a necessary step in the right direction, appreciate your support.  Florida is a football and not a BB state, this will get the kids there IMO as long as we are decent and not the train wreck of the last few years.

Just my hunch, but I think if we had sustained winning under Strong the Big 12 would have added us along with the 4 other teams( BYU, UCF, Houston, Cincy). I do believe they would have seen us along with UCF as a package deal with an in built rivalry. This might still happen in the future if we do things right. But again this is just my hunch, and we will never know for sure. However I think we will still get our chance to join the Big 12 in the future

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
