It's possible the stadium will be built before we initially expected but date of the first football game there doesn't change. E.g. finished early 2026 vs. Fall 2026. The first game is still 2026.

Or that elements of the stadium will be here sooner e.g. renderings

I'm pretty sure this is it. We just saw the IPF finish later than expected, they probably want to give a buffer so the stadium doesn't finish midseason 2026 and the opener is a random game in November.

Small update, but progress.  None of the $22mil is coming from state funds, and its already in place.

We do realize that your post couldn’t be further from the truth.

The stadium is great but is pointless if we are not relevant and stringing together multiple bowl seasons in a row before it opens. We should have spent this effort on winning earlier. A stadium helps but we went from a culture of winning and taking down top programs under Leavitt to all the way to the bottom of FBS football post Leavitt.
