Firing Leavitt was the start of the downfall yes, but no other coach hired has has any lasting success. We keep changing coaching styles and schemes. I am not against an OCs but I think the mission should be focused more on winning then expecting the OCS to turn USF into a winner.

Certainly winning is the most important part of the equation. However, I don't think anyone thinks that an OCS will turn USF magically into a winner. What it will show though is that USF is committed to the future of its football program. It will also help with recruiting and attendance. There will be more realignment in the future and we will be competing against the likes of Tulane, SMU, Memphis, ECU, Boise State,.... While winning will be the most important criteria, an OSC stadium, especially if build the right way, will only help our chances.

He didn't fall into their lap ... they hired him.  It was part of the overall investment in the program .. an investment that included building an OCS

He never would have been an option for them if he hadn't ****** his ND application and had a relationship with Orsini .... just more of their demonic "luck".

except the program wasn't nosedived by skip .. it was judy

Judy, Skip, whoever ..... we could have gotten to where we wanted without an ocs in the years between then and now.

I'm all in on an ocs now because I think, hope, the stars have aligned to get it done. I do think it will help our chances ....... now.

I agree but we got to focus on winning first. Winning is more important than the OCS .

Correct but if we build an OCS and look anything close to the last 3 years we are not moving up in conference. If the OCS is delayed  a few years and we start winning we still could move up. I think winning , top 25 wins, and stability is more important than an OCS. The Ray Jay was packed when we were in the big east and beating top 25 teams and other power 5 teams. Getting wiped and embarrassed by Louisville( low tier acc), BYU ( not top 25 independent), ECU, Tulsa, SMU, and Temple are not going to improve the odds of getting a power invite whether we have an OCs or not.

No one has ever said this and the focus is on winning no matter how many times you say otherwise

We have people predicting we are getting an ACC invite and stating the OCS is going to solve the issues. We need to focus on winning at all cost.

They still had to hire the guy and they did because of their commitment to the program and the fact that Judy neglected the program once she had what she wanted out of it matters if we are talking about why we didn't build on what we had then

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
