My gut feeling is that CAG and KP will use the spring to evaluate who we currently have and then make additions after. Which makes sense b/c some players just don't have enough game film to truly evaluate.

I am sure we have offered plenty of defensive players. I know of at least a few that we are still waiting on for a decision. There is probably more.  I think Coach Golesh understands that waiting until after Spring practice is risky since you don't know what will still be available. I think its more that Coach Golesh is an offensive guy so its easier to recruit offensive players vs defensive players for him. USF might be a hard sell right now to defensive recruits.

It won’t be harder to recruit after spring. There is another open transfer portal window in early May. If anything, there will be even more options then than there are right now as people seek fresh opportunities after spring ball. Many so called power program defensive players will seek fresh starts after finding out they’re not on top of depth chart after spring. Some will just be seeking new opportunities period.

I hope this is why he hired a somewhat proven Defensive Coordinator and the rest of the defensive staff. The have got to know the needs and pursue those players. Golesh is the closer. Being offensive minded should not have that big of an effect on offering scholarships to the players needed. 2¢

Its true there is still plenty of time. It be nice if we can find some defensive players after Spring Practice in the Bohanon mold; someone who has plenty of experience at  a power 5 team and just got beat out by someone as a starter.
