I'm just hoping a big part of the failure was because of scheme.

I mean a new scheme couldn't make us worse than last right?

Well... we changed scheme after the 21' season and we saw how well that worked out.

We changed schemes from 21 to 22.

Edit: Sorry Sk00b. Didn't see your reply until after I did.

Looks like an unrated player committed today.

Gonna have to trust the staff on this one that they found a diamond in the rough. Looks like his only other DI offer was from FAU. Offers from Clarke University? Iowa Wesleyan? Thiel College? Gannon University? Norwich University? Could this kid be a preferred walk-on?

Never 100% trust 100% commits. I’m not sure, but I don’t think our history is that good.

Hard to scheme when you don’t match up. Our DLine was severely undersized and without much depth. Hard to scheme when you are using 250 lb DE as your starting DT. More than anything else I think that Scott’s inability to recruit and build a decent DLine was his demise here. Had he had an average one last year, we are at least 6-6 and he still here.

Bottom line, as bad as the defense was last year, if nothing else it gave younger players experience,  which we hope turns into better play. We're rarely getting players you can just plug'n'play so thinking replacing all the players on defense is some kind of a strategy is kind of silly.

He should start as many his guys as possible. If they have the ability to start, you get 4 years of his guys. Wherever you can obviously. O-line, d-line you’d like new stronger big bodies but every other skill position we can change. The point is our defense is the worst in the country at every position we were terrible. You literally cannot do worse than last year except maybe setting a new level of bad but to roll out the same guys expecting them to be better is kind of silly at this point the stats speak for itself

He atleast tried but two DT didn't make it due to grades at end of summer...that was the start of this season falling apart. Those two big DT would have made I bet a drastic change to this defense.

CAG absolutely needs to get some more  p5 D line transfers.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
