We cant be that dumb. There is no way.

Agreed, but no amount of gut-wrenching disappointment is out of the question with this program anymore.

I'm panicked now. Sounds like Chadwell turned us down mid week.

So?

This reminds me a little to 2014; when we struck out on bigger names for a new basketball coach and ended up settling on coach Antigua.

Still don't know though and have to wait and see how it all transpires. Still hoping that we can at least get Chadwell

It appears USF thought they could get Deion.... Wrong. Thought they were the most desirable landing spot for Chadwell as a backup.... Wrong. Pissed Herman off by passing him up and he went to our new conference rival where he will be focused on kicking our teeth in.

This is what I'm worried about the most.

There's simply no justifiable reason to have fired your HC three weeks before Black Monday and be one of the last, if not the last team in all of D1 to secure your next coach.

And *this* is the reason to be worried that the former is true.

The only reason you don't have a coach right now is because he is coaching today.  And while there are other teams playing today who are not coached by Deon/Chadwell...the fact is there hasn't been much 'smoke' linking others to USF.  So naturally some of our minds wander to "are we effing this up the way we have been with all of our hires recently?"

"Oh but it's actually good we haven't heard other rumors since the big names said no" you say, "Means no leaks in the department".  Sorry but while that is normally true, these are not normal times. USF fans are at their most vulnerable right now, having gone through the worst few years in the team's existence and our players are entering the portal on a daily basis.

SOMETHING REASSURING, TO PROVIDE HOPE, IS NEEDED FOR FANS AND PLAYERS.

Otherwise the perception of an incompetent administration that can't win games and can't hire coaches with a month head start becomes reality.

I've been pretty understanding and positive this whole time. The concern is starting to set in

If DaPrato is elevated to HC, Kelly needs to be fired immediately, if not sooner.

Bruh just bring Leavitt in and keep the whole staff and give them a pay bump. Done.

I’d be satisfied with that.  Could’ve done it last week, but hey swing for the fences on the first two strikes, then shorten up when you’re down in the count!

I'm looking forward to Kelly getting grilled by the two or three reporters who show up to the next coach intro presser.

Those two or three reporters are going to talk about Deion Sanders and Jon Gruden ad nauseam.
