My statement was a poor attempt at mocking xCJS and his decision to see through Clemson's CFP run before joining USF. Obviously my joke did not resonate lol

It was funny however the FCS championship is played in Frisco every year so I unfortunately know that it is not until the first week of January

11-0 and not in playoffs. How's that work?

Their choice, no segregation I promise.

They want to play in the HBCU championship instead.

Agreed on the latter... but what could such a plan be?  Designate a "head coach in waiting"?  Who knows what coaches will be available, and interested, whenever Sanders leaves.  It seems no matter what USF would be back to square one.

Develop an identity.  We went from Taggart (offense) to Chuckles (defense) and back to offense with Scott and we see out the worked out.  Figure out we are and hire accordingly.  The school to the NE did it and it worked for them.

No idea there was such a thing. Do HBCU's always opt out of the FCS playoffs to go to this?

Did they, tho?  90% of coaches are offensive minded these days.  Look at the lists that are circulating on various sites... how many of them are defensive-minded?  CJS was offensive minded... that didn't exactly work out.

The Celebration Bowl started in 2015 to match the SWAC and MEAC champions.  This year it's Jackson State vs NC Central... it's basically the HBCU national championship.

So they don't really have the option of playing in the FCS playoffs?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
