Again, we may want to run a few tests, take a few moments to think before committing $25 million.

Plus, that whole control thing had me a bit nervous .... he ain't Saban, Dabo or whoever at this point.

Well if he can get top talent to fcs Jackson state he should easily to be able to get talent to usf playing at Raymond  James pro stadium breaking in the new ipf and the opportunity  to be the first class to win on the on campus stadium.

What would be an example of a control thing we don't like?  Like bringing in certain hires that make the school look bad that we "can't" fire?  Recruiting a player that is not squeaky clean?

Page back a few dozen pages - it was clear that JP was told that occurred by the same source a distinguished member here was told that.  So it might not have happened, but the Deion contact said it did.  Was he acting at Deion's request or not?  We'll likely never know.  Again, we may want to run a few tests, take a few moments to think before committing $25 million.  I know that sounds like a killjoy but something seems more than a little off in this circus.

The name and the recruits are exciting, but they are 68th in college team talent https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Football/CollegeTeamTalentComposite/

The 3 teams above them are USF, Syracuse, Memphis. The 3 teams below them are FAU, Kansas State, Kansas.

If Jeff Scott played Jackson State's schedule of 11 FCS teams he might be undefeated too. Having as much talent as we currently do and having 5/11 games decided by 2 scores or less against FCS competition isn't exactly worth 25 million.

At least with Willie Simmons it would feel like an FCS coach that was punching above his weight class. Deion seems completely reliant on out talenting teams and that'll get harder and harder the higher level he gets to.

-USF and Deion have been in contract negotiations

-Deion told some of his people "leak out some info to USF people to get their fans worked up". Thats what JP was tweeting. Now Deion has some leverage because Kelly knows the fanbase will be annoyed if its anyone besides Deion

-BJ is pissed JP fell for that bait

Or deion doesn't want anything out until after his game this weekend and BJ is pissed someone leaked it.

True, but welcome to being a suddenly big name program.  The biggest programs have wild gossip swirling around.  A lot of prying eyes and mustaches will suddenly be interested in a good and bad way.

In comparison
Chadwell 2019: team was 10/10th in the conference in total team talent. He finished 2-6 in conference
Chadwell 2020: team was 8/10th in the conference in total team talent. He finished 8-0 in conference
Chadwell 2021: team was 8/10th in conference in total team talent. He finished 6-2 in conference
Chadwell 2022: team was 3/10th in conference in total team talent. He finished 6-2 in conference

There's evidence Chadwell can punch above his weight class and consistently improve the talent on the roster year by year. Prime would be a lot of hype but I genuinely think year 2 Chadwell at USF wins more games than year 2 prime at USF

Legit or troll, there's nothing going on right now except all of us cracking jokes while we wait for the end of the week. In fairness, his/ her current absence from the thread is not indicative of anything, IMO.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
