Unless I'm missing something, we're not being "bitter every time a player leaves". We fully understand why they'd want to go somewhere else. The ones catching the grief are primarily the ones perceived as quitting on their teammates. You don't have a problem with that, fine, but some do ....

Here's my problem.  People bashing others based upon assumptions and innuendo.  No one bashing this kid (yes, 22 is a kid) has any real idea whether he quit or not.  But people love to pass judgement on kids...

Yet they always manage to turn out ok.  Almost like as adults get older they forget they were also hooligans when they were young.

Not this player. How many times we lost due to bad play calling by the coaches? We have 5 players that transferred to P5 programs, 1 player to a very good James Madison team that could possibly make a NY6 bowl game next year and Weaver will probably the 6th player to transfer to a P5 school. So we had talent, our past 2 coaches just failed.

The team was 1-11 with a "dead man walking" coaching staff. Football believe it or not is a dangerous game in which you can lose your life or ability to walk. If we were trying to make a bowl game and these players quit on us, I could see the point in being upset. But this program was a hot mess so why risk injury. In the end, we finally got to see what Sean Atkins and the other WRs can do and I'm fine with who we have and will pick up in the transfer portal.

This is true. The defense, the ability of coaching staff to build the players up, recruiting, and  the ability to coach kids up and mold them into a winning mentality was the biggest issues in my mind. The players were just having fun on the sidelines and not taking it serious at times it seemed. IF you look at winning programs they are serious and have fun in big moments like touchdowns, turnovers, big stops, and let loose after the DUB ( win )

I understand they want to win, but he kind of quit of the team it appears last season like Grier. We do not know if there were issues going on. If Weaver and Grier played and gave it their all we may have won ONE or more FBS games last season. If they can go find a better squad and more NIL money then I am all for it. I hope they don't quit on their new teammates and coaches. I want guys that are all in when they are starters and will do whatever it takes to win. Not sit on the sideline when times get tough. The more of the players from the last 3 year years move on the more new blood to mold into winners.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
