Ewers signed NIL deals before entering college. there are 3 states that prohibit high school players from signing deals that's why he skipped his senior season. His biggest deal came days after he enrolled at ohio state . I guess it could be just a coincidence. maybe they didn't work out a deal beforehand.....

I don't know his specific case, but there is a difference between Ohio and Florida and Ohio State and South Florida.  NIL is not governed federally.  Florida has its rules, as do other states

Sort of like we need some governing agency to set some standards….like an Athletics Association of some sorts?

This sounds interesting if you wanted to create some parity, but I think this all exists to pump up ESPN revenue.

I was being sarcastic, since the NCAA has no true power besides investigation

Excellent!  Sounds like a great way to set up a league.

Honesty, it’s ******** how NIL is set up. The schools are keeping their profits, and forcing the NIL out on to other people/companies/collectives. It should have been a profit sharing system from the school.

I get that but I'm sure there are backroom discussions about how much NIL money might be available if they sign with a school. that will happen in florida too.

it's just a matter of which contract is signed first. for what it's worth Ewers signed the deal with an autograph company with Ohio State just after signing there. I'm sure they had talked about what kind of money the deal would be worth beforehand.

I don't know but Bama is having an exodus of 4 star players.  Looks like the norm.

Waiting for the TB Times article on the mass exodus from those schools.

I think Bama has 13, UF 15, FSU 8, UM 12, UCF 7, USF 8....It's the wild west out there....Hopefully we can pull in some homesick talent that wants to play here.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
