Coastal Carolina's coach is Jamey Chadwell and he is like in his early to mid 40s. He is one or the coaches I'd like to see here but I'm scared getting a third coach from the carolinas Holtz and Scott were total bust.

That's the thing about mistakes, you can't take them back.

Good point, but there is a USF coaching staff you could make that have people with actual experience

HC: Jim Leavitt

DC: James Rowe - played baseball at USF. But since then was DC at Valdosta State and they led D2 in interceptions, 3 year defensive assistant for the Washington Commanders, Broyles award nominated DB coach at App State, DB's coach for the Colts, and now DB's coach for the Bears

Co-OC: Larry Scott - interim HC at Miami, OC at Tennessee, HC at Howard

Co-Oc: Marquell Blackwell (Co-OC at Houston and now RB's coach at Ole Miss)

LB coach: Auggie Sanchez - cerebral player who is the HC @ Seminole in Pinellas, leading them to 8-2 currently

Then you'd have the guys like Flowers & Kayvon Webster who have mentioned they would like to get into coaching be lower level assistants.

again take away their connection to USF and nobody would be impressed with that list

Who cares about a bunch of former players coming here to coach?  It's an option that some would like to consider, discuss.   Why?  Excitement!  Interest! involvement!  You see the effect? it's uniting around being a BULL!  Those are GREAT THINGS (we wouldn't have with another cookie-cutter coach)!

We have some true Bulls on here and it's fun to think about.  Leavitt would make a great head coach - he needs to be surrounded by great assistants and coordinators, wherever they come from.

The next three years require a rapid ascent, we need to be winning 4-5 next year, 6-8 and then 9-11.  No time for playing around with silly experiments or getting your guys here, or opening your playbook in year two, none of that crap.  Who ever is hired has to know they start immediately , 7X24 and it is a rapid ascent you must achieve.  Drop the cool stuff, go win.  Focus.

So you were just hired as the new head football coach at USF. Would you keep the offensive system that Trickett is running, or try to change it up and run a spread/RPO similar to Josh Heupel at Tennessee? Does USF have the players to do that?

I would keep Trickett on board and whomever he needs in his staff. Keep De Deprato. Promote Ernie Sims to DC, and scrap everyone else.

lot of high school talent in florida to run it

we need to have an identity and consistently bring in coaches to run similar systems

stop flip flopping

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
